For about two weeks now BK has been extra curious about the names of places, but he always asks like this:

"
BK: Mommy, where we are?"

So, I try to correct him.

BK: Mommy, where we are?
M: We're in Rockwell
BK: Rockwell?
M: Yes. And it's.. 'Where'
BK: where
M: 'Are'...
BK: are
M: 'We'...
BK: we!
M: Where are we!
BK: WHERE WE ARE WE!!!

[TAGUGSH! haha....oh well, di bale nang sobra kesa kulang. LOL ]

Double negative

While traversing SLEX on the way to Alabang for the weekend, BoyKulit asks me;

BK: M, can you see the excavator
M: No
BK: (matter-of-factly) neither can I

[ganun!? LOL]

Boy kulit Dictionary

For a 2-yr old kid, BK knows a lot of words, and sometimes he even makes up words, that makes sense. Here's some examples:

arounding - going around
e.g. : (while playing with his toy car and making it go around me)
AROUNDING, AROUNDING!

Miners - to denote something that is his
e.g. : M: can i eat this apple?
BK: no! its miners!

[these are the only words that i remember as of now, but i'll update this post as soon as some other words come up]

Lost & Found

Around 5pm the other day, we heard a knock on the front door.
BoyKulit rushes past Yaya, opens the door and
excitedly shouts

"Yaya! Look what I found! Its Daddy!!!

hehehehe.....

WEEST!

When BoyKulit was around 14mos old, he loved hugging us, so I would always say "Awww, you're sweet" and he'd try to copy it by saying "Weest em, weest!"

[Weest nga naman =P]

BoyKulit Speak

BoyKulit speaks like he isn't two and a half. You can ask all our friends or his teachers. Samples;

We were in the car, with his balikbayan uncle riding shotgun and him sitting in the middle (Hey, we're in the P.I. no carseat law!)
BK: (after singing a song) So, Tito Han....
[he never got to finish his sentence because we all burst out laughing]

---------------
(Same car ride)
BK: D, can i drive?
D: ok
BK: (handing the iPod to H) here, hold it.

---------------
(Still the same car ride)
BK: Look Tito Han! there's the car, the mixer, and a cargo.... (and he enumerates all the cars and vehicles we pass)
BK: And this is the bridge!
LOL

~ We miss you Tito H, Tita A, Hayden and Haley!

My Little Puppy

When BoyKulit was younger (maybe a year old) he loved climbing on furniture and stair railing, I started calling him MonkeyBoy and soon after called him Little Puppy (can't remember why though). And now that he knows more animals, he says he's a different animal weekly/daily. The other day he was a "baby triceratop" other times it was a "baby snake", "baby diplodocus", "baby megalosaurus", "baby hippo"... etc, etc. Weird where he gets these ideas. He sometimes just comes up to us and says "Hi Mommy! I'm a baby snake! Sssssss...." But more often than not, it's just a little puppy with matching snuggling. And I love it :)

LoloCyrus

BK has this picture book filled with different animals. He's had it since he was 6 months old and I'd "read" it to him, every chance I get. Now the walrus is right next to a page filled with dinosaurs, and ever since he's asked what this is :
His answer will always be "Lolocyrus". We've tried correcting him numerous times. Even in school his teacher would tell him what animal this is. What's funny is he would answer right the first time, but he'd say "Lolocyrus" right after.
KULIT! :)

Sibling Rivalry?

During my Lola's wake last week, BoyKulit, as usual, was entertaining the visitors. A family friend asked if we were planning to get him a sibling anytime soon. I told her to ask him;

Tita: Bk, do you want a baby brother or a baby sister?

BK: (without missing a beat) No, that's not cool.

Waaaaaahahahah! :P

Office kulit

Last December, we had a lot of free time at the office so I decided to let BoyKulit tag along one Friday. Since we work nights, I had to take him home around 1am. A couple of people went with us, SanMig to drive the car so I can hold BK at the back and lull him to sleep, Kel to take pics (photoshoot?!), plus Cherry and Eenah (wala lang, hahaha). In the car, BK won't let SanMig drive the car (Mommy only!!!) so I had to switch seats. When on the driver's seat, he kept on insisting that he sit on my lap since D lets him.

BK: I want to drive!
M: But it's dark and we might bump another car!
BK: No! No! No!
M: Pleaaasse. You can sit in the middle but not on my lap.
BK: eeeeeeh! (whining)
M: ok, what do you want, ba? You want to drive?
BK: yes.
M: ok here
(i let him, play with the steering wheel a while)
M: oh, can we go home now? D is waiting for you
BK: yes
M: go sit in the middle
BK: no I want to sit here
Eenah: BK, you cant have your cake and eat it too!
BK: ....?!
(thinking about what Eenah said took enough time for me to sit him in the middle, put the car in gear and move out the parking lot)

While he was thinking we all started singing the NIPS jingle to keep him occupied

(you wanna see what happens in a bag of nips....)

and all the way home, we were singing and laughing in the car.

As soon as I laid him down on the bed, BAGSAK!

=)

Sharkbite

I saw the iPod the other day with gashes on the screen, I asked yaya and she said she didn't notice it the night before. When BoyKulit woke up I went and asked him;

M: Babe, what happened to the iPod? (pointing to the scratches)

BK: a shark bit it

M: huwaaaat? .......
M: What's the name of the shark?

(long pause)

BK: BoyKulit!

TAGUGSH!

Logic

Boy kulit is a 2 1/2 year old kid that loves playing with my iPod touch. One day a couple of weeks back, his dad, D, wanted to play with the iPod and asked if he can borrow it, here's how the conversation went...

D: Babe, can I borrow the iPod?
BK: no
D: pleaaaase? I wanna check something..
BK: come here, I tell you something...
(D goes over to where BK is sitting and puts his face up to BK's)
BK: I'll go to work, I ride car, I buy you iPod. I'll be back.
(then he sees me looking at him)
BK: you too mommy
(D and I burst out laughing)

kids!
